5 Best Value-For-Money Motorcycles Upto 400cc

As much as we love to see exotic and expensive bikes, the fact remains that the Indian two-wheeler market is a price conscious and value driven one. We love to get more for less - more power, more features at a relatively lower price tag. So here’s a list of five motorcycles available in the most value for money spectrum from 110cc to 400cc. Upto 125cc: Bajaj Discover 125 Priced below Rs 60,000, the Discover 125 retails for almost as much as top-spec 110cc motorcycles. So effectively, for the price of a 110cc motorcycle, you can buy a more powerful 125cc bike. It is not bare basic either. The Discover 125 gets LED DRLs, semi-digital instrument console, alloy wheels and an optional disc brake. Its 124.6cc air-cooled motor makes 11PS of power and 10.8Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The rear twin shock absorbers too claim to offer the best in class suspension travel. The Discover 125 is available in two variants: Drum (Rs 57,165) and Disc (Rs 59,488) (both prices, ex-

Upcoming Jawa Motorcycle Spotted Testing

Just last month, Jawa teased its new-generation engine, and announced that the motorcycle will be revealed on November 15. The Jawa 300 has now been spotted testing ahead of its official reveal. Looking at the heavily camouflaged spy shots, the motorcycle looks almost production ready. The test mule has been designed with proper retro-modern approach, with a round headlamp up front and easy-to-reach handlebars. It features a very plush-looking seat with a rather simple-looking grabrails We are unclear how the instrument console is, thanks to the heavy taping. The front end gets telescopic forks with a fork cover that looks a lot similar to the one found in Royal Enfield Bullet / Classic models. The spoke wheels look similar-sized both front and rear, and it looks like they’re shod with MRF tyres. At the rear, the motorcycle employs a pair of gas-charged shock absorbers. While the front end comes with a disc brake, Jawa has opted for a drum unit at the rear, presumably to keep t

Harley-Davidson Recalls Over 23 Lakh Motorcycles Worldwide

The Milwaukee based luxury two-wheeler manufacturer has voluntarily recalled over 2.3 lakh motorcycles worldwide, for clutch related issues. This is Harley-Davidson ’s fourth clutch related recall in the past five years and includes all model-year 2017 and 2018 Touring, Trike and CVO Touring models, as well as select 2017 Softail models. The reason for the recall is reported to be an internal leak in the master cylinder, preventing the clutch from disengaging. As for the recall in India, Harley-Davidson has confirmed that only a handful of motorcycles have been affected. Back in 2016, a faulty clutch master cylinder had the manufacturer recalling around 27,000 bikes consisting of 14 models from its portfolio. Prior to this, around 46,000 motorcycles including the Road Glide and Road King , among others, made their way back to the company in 2015 due to the same issue. As per the bikemaker, the current recall will cost the bikemaker a whopping $35 million (around Rs 259 crores)

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R Bookings Open

Earlier, we exclusively reported that the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will be making its Indian debut soon. Now, confirming the news, Kawasaki has opened pre-bookings for the supersport for a token amount of Rs 1.50 lakh. However, the bookings will only be open till November 30. The 2020 ZX-6R will be brought here via the CKD route, just like its bigger brother - the Ninja ZX-10R . The Ninja ZX-6R is one of the oldest nameplates in Kawasaki’s lineup. First introduced in 1995, the firm has been tinkering with its design and engine ever since to fend off competition from other Japanese motorcycle manufacturers. However, the upgrades on the MY’20 model are mostly subtle in nature. While the overall silhouette remains pretty similar to the previous iteration, the 2020 ZX-6R gets a new front cowl and a revised tail section. Its twin headlamps now feature a slightly revised design with LED lamps. Even the tail light gets the same treatment. Other subtle updates include a new windscreen while

Okinawa Ridge Plus Top 4 Facts

Okinawa has launched a new variant for the Ridge called the Ridge Plus . It gets a couple of extra features that come as standard and commands a price of Rs 64,988. That's a whole Rs 21,000 more than the standard lead battery-powered model. So, is the new Okinawa Ridge+ worth the increased asking price? We have a closer look.   Does it look any different? Not really. While the Ridge+ promises to be a step above the standard variant, most of the R&D was concentrated in making the Ridge+ more feature rich rather than stylish. The downside, though, is that it looks similar to the standard Ridge. Although, to tell one from the other, Okinawa offers the Ridge+ in two new trims: orange/grey and blue.   Feature packed? This is where the Ridge+ really stands out. It gets keyless functions including start-up, which isn’t available on any of the scooters in the Indian market today, be it electric or IC engines. In addition to this, the scooter features an anti-theft alarm sy

Okinawa Ridge Launched At Rs 64998

Gurugram-based electric scooter manufacturer Okinawa has launched the Ridge Plus (stylised as Ridge+) at a price of Rs 64,998. This makes it a whopping Rs 21,000 more expensive than the lead-acid battery-powered Okinawa Ridge . So what do you get for the additional moolah?   For starters, the design of the scooter remains unchanged. The only cosmetic changes here are the two new paint options - orange/grey and blue. However, the biggest change comes in the form of its power source. While the Ridge can be bought with either a lead-acid VRLA or a lithium-ion battery, the Ridge Plus is only offered with the latter. Okinawa claims this 800 Watt battery gives the Ridge Plus a range of 120km on a single charge and a top speed of 55kmph. What’s more, this battery can be detached and carried to the rider's home or office for a recharge, similar to what we’ve seen in the Ionex concept by South Korean e-scooter manufacturer Kymco. Is This The New Royal Enfield Classic 650

Royal Enfield has sent out a teaser on its social media platforms with the tagline “6.11.2018, LIVE from #EICMA2018. Block your dates!” From the silhouette, we first figured this could be a teaser of something akin to a Classic 650. However, going by what Royal Enfield already has in store in the 650 platform (a classic bike and a cafe racer), it leaves space for only two more types of motorcycles: a bobber and a scrambler. And this silhouette definitely leans more towards the former! The headlight gets semi-circular LED DRLs, but it is uncertain whether the main unit is halogen or LED. It does get a curvy nacelle that’s eerily reminiscent of the Indian Scout Bobber . Interestingly, the fuel tank comes with a mixture of the new logo’s font with the old one’s layout, presumably to show the brand’s heritage. Handlebars seem to be flat and wide, and the single seat is nicely sculpted a la the Triumph Bonneville Bobber . Even the front fender looks like a chopped unit, further reinforc

KTM Teases 790 Adventure R In Small Video Clip

The teasing and tempting continues from KTM as the Austrian manufacturer has released a short clip confirming the global showcasing of the 790 Adventure. What’s more, it will bear the ‘R’ suffix! This should bring joy and delight for all off-road lovers as KTM’s R branded adventure bikes are the more hardcore variants of its Travel series of motorcycles. KTM has been working on the parallel-twin platform for quite some time and the first fruit that bore out of it was the 790 Duke , which is expected to hit Indian shores by 2019. That said, KTM could not forget its off-road roots and gave us a first glimpse of what to expect after they revealed the concept 790 Adventure at the 2017 EICMA. Well it is no longer a concept as KTM is gearing up to unveil what could be the most anticipated middleweight adventure motorcycle for over a year.
