Honda Activa 5G vs TVS Jupiter Specifications Comparison

Watch Video Review   Scooters are selling like hot cakes for one main reason: their inherent quality of offering a hassle-free commute. If you’re looking for point A to B commute and don’t want to bother with gear shifting, a scooter is the answer. Plus, they score big on practicality, thanks to an underseat storage and spacious floorboard space. Honda seems to have captured the market with its bestseller, the Activa , and here’s how it stacks up against its primary competitor, the TVS Jupiter . Kinetic To Launch FB Mondial HPS 300 In India

It was only recently that Kinetic-owned Motoroyale acquired the Hyosung brand in India. And now, the brand is planning to launch FB Mondial in our market around mid-September. Motoroyale plans to kickstart FB Mondial’s India innings with the launch of a scrambler-style, single-cylinder motorcycle - the HPS 300. But before we get to know the motorcycle, let’s take a look at what FB Mondial is all about. FB Mondial is a lesser known Italian motorcycle manufacturer, which was brought back to life a few years ago. It was founded in 1929 by the Boselli brothers. The initials FB stand for ‘Fratelli Boselli’, where Boselli means brothers. During its reign, FB Mondial was a niche brand that built only 1,000 to 2,000 units annually. Between 1949 and 1957, it won the legendary Isle of Man TT thrice, and also registered five more manufacturer and rider victories. However, in 1957, FB Mondial quit racing, which proved to be a major setback to its popularity and in turn its sales. Later, due t

The standard version gets long travel suspension in the form of telescopic forks upfront and rear monoshock. The Reason Behind Royal Enfield 650 Twins Delayed Launch

Watch Video Review   There has been a lot of interest behind Royal Enfield ’s first multi-cylinder motorcycles, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 . Royal Enfield enthusiasts have been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of these large capacity motorcycles, but they might have to wait a bit longer for the same. While the bikes will be launched in international markets by the third quarter of this financial year (early next year), the India launch is expected post that. The reason for this delay, according to company officials, is that for an important market like India, they want to get the launch right. Currently, both 650cc bikes are undergoing final stages of validation. To gear up for the India launch, Royal Enfield is in the process of setting up an inventory big enough to meet demands when the bike is launched. The company wants to ensure that each of their 850 dealerships across India have ample 650cc test ride bikes as well as stocks in hand for speed

Get Ready To Pay Higher Insurance Premium For A New Two-wheeler

If you aspire to own a new two-wheeler, get ready to pay a bit more moolah as part of the on-road price. Starting 1 September, 2018, buyers of new two-wheelers will have to purchase a five-year insurance cover upfront. The Supreme Court, on July 20, ordered that third-party insurance cover for a new car be for a three year period, and five years for two-wheelers. The order will apply to all insurance policies sold from 1 September, 2018. While this may seem like bad news to some, it could save two-wheeler owners the trouble of renewing insurance on a yearly basis and also worry less about vehicle damage. New Two-Wheeler Insurance Type Current Premium (1 year) Long Term Premium (5 year) Multiplier Below 75cc Rs 427 Rs 1045 2.45 75cc - 150cc Rs 720 Rs 3285 4.56 Above 350cc Rs 2323 Rs 13,034 5.61 Since the cost of insurance is expected to almost double. Bajaj Auto has urged customers to avail of its offer on or before 31 August, 2018. The offer inc

Emflux Teases Naked Electric Streetfighter

Emflux, the Bengaluru-based tech start-up that shocked the country by unveiling India’s first-ever electric superbike, the One , at the 2018 Auto Expo has now teased its next project - a naked electric streetfighter.   The electric streetfighter, aptly named the Emflux Two, is still in its design stages and is expected to be launched only after the company rolls out the Emflux One sometime next year. Based on the sketch teased by the company, it’s quite evident that the electric street naked will feature a steeply raked headlamp unit as well as handlebars that are more upright. The rest of the bike seems to be the same as the Emflux One.  It is likely to be equipped with the One’s 60kW liquid-cooled AC induction motor. This unit churns out 81.5PS of power and 84Nm of torque. According to the company, the Emflux One can sprint from zero to 100kmph in just 3 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 200kmph. While these figures are impressive, we expect the Emflux Two to be slightl

Incoming Mahindra Electric Motorcycle

Mahindra has not tasted much success in the two-wheeler space but it has been going strong in the electric mobility segment. It is one of the few manufacturers in India to sell all-electric cars, and its subsidiary Pininfarina is in the process of designing an all-electric hypercar . Heck, Mahindra even sells the GenZe electric scooter in the USA . What if Mahindra is looking into the electric two-wheeler space in India ? Images have surfaced of a Mojo at a testing facility in Bangalore. What's interesting about this bike is that it has a belt drive and misses a gear shift lever, indicating its an automatic. Both of these are common features on an electric two-wheeler. The engine bay is fully enclosed and the lack of an exhaust pipe could mean that the engine bay encloses a battery pack. Could this mean Mahindra is planning an electric version of the Mojo? That could be true but then again it is quite possible that Mahindra is using the Mojo’s running chassis to develop an a

Mumbai-based Custom Bike Builder To Compete In World Bike Building Championship

Transfigure Custom House (TCH), a Mumbai-based custom motorcycle manufacturer, has been selected to compete in the 2018 World Bike Building Championship held by AMD magazine and INTERMOT in October this year at Cologne, Germany. Founded by Adil Dumasia, the company has built 59 custom motorcycles based on Royal Enfields , Harley-Davidsons and Triumphs till date. TCH is set to enter their latest creation, the ‘ALBRASSCO’, a custom motorcycle based on 1949 BSA B31 350cc Plunger. The name has been derived from the various materials used in constructing the motorcycle - Aluminium (AL), Brass (BRA), Stainless Steel (SS) and Copper (CO). These non-ferrous metals have their own shade of colour, thereby negating the need to paint the motorcycle, all the while maintaining a unique look. The chassis and swingarm are made of stainless steel, while the engine mounts and the wheel hubs are made of brass. The front suspension, on the other hand, is CNC-cut from aluminium billet. The company ha
