BMW G 310 R BS6 G 310 GS BS6 Bookings Begin Launch Likely By Mid-September

  • The two G 310 siblings have been spotted with LED headlights.
  • Spied images hint at the presence of ride-by-wire.
  • Expect a significant price cut for the new bikes.

It seems BMW Motorrad was quietly working away during the lockdown to get its G 310 siblings ready for BS6 norms. The BS6 bikes were spotted at the beginning of the lockdown abroad and as things started getting more relaxed in the country, the bikes were roaming our streets too. BMW is confident that the BS6 bikes are ready to hit the market as the bookings for the updated G 310 R and G 310 GS have commenced.

Motorrad dealerships across the country were already accepting bookings prior to the official announcement. Now that the communication has arrived, the launch should take place soon enough. And there is going to be a treat for new buyers (which will sound miserable to existing owners), BMW Motorrad might be offering the new bikes at a significantly lower price point. According to our dealer sources, one can expect the new models to be Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 cheaper than before! Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t get any weirder, right?

The biggest change highlighted on the new G 310s in the teasers, and also the worst kept secret, is the addition of new LED headlights. The earlier models didn’t particularly have great illumination systems, with slightly flimsy housing present on the GS model. These new LED units should do the trick.

Lastly, we expect BMW to follow in TVS’s footsteps and introduce ride-by-wire on its own bikes. Built on the same platform as the Apache RR 310, the G 310 R and G 310 GS could benefit from the electronic aid, thereby making the motor less prone to vibrations. Expect no change in the performance output from the 312cc engine though.

We will have to wait for a while to know all the details about the updated BMW bikes. So stay tuned to ZigWheels.com for all the dope.

Honda HNess Cruiser India Launch Tomorrow

Honda is all set to launch its first small-capacity retro motorcycle tomorrow. There were rumours about the upcoming bike being the Honda Rebel 300. However, going by the recently-released teaser of the exhaust note , it is likely to pack an old-school air-cooled long-stroke fuel-injected motor displacing somewhere around 350-400cc. That’s a complete departure from the single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine in the Rebel. Expect plenty of low-end torque accompanied by the traditional Honda-levels of refinement in the upcoming bike.  For representation The Honda H'Ness is expected to come with the same roadster-like design language as the Honda CB1100 EX.
